When content that may exploit, harm, or depict a child in sexual contexts (commonly referred to as CSAM) appears on our site, we act quickly and decisively: we remove the content, preserve records for investigators, and report the matter to the appropriate Nigerian authorities as required by law and best practice.

How we detect potential CSAM

We employ a layered approach to detection:

• Automated detection tools -  We use industry‑standard technologies such as hash‑matching against known CSAM databases and machine-learning models to flag suspected material. These tools are essential for quickly identifying content that needs urgent review.

• Human review -  Our trained staff perform random checks on uploaded files to ensure they comply with Davruna’s policies. In addition, any material that is flagged by our automated systems or reported by users is manually reviewed by our staff before any action is taken. This dual process ensures accuracy, reduces false positives, and helps prevent harmful content from remaining on the platform.

• Cloudflare partnership - Davruna utilises Cloudflare’s security and content-monitoring tools, which are partnered with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), to help detect and report CSAM quickly and effectively.

(We do not publish technical details that might enable attempts to evade detection. We will not tolerate any effort to circumvent safety systems.)

Immediate actions we take

When content is confirmed or strongly suspected to be CSAM, Davruna takes these steps:

1. Remove and quarantine the content from public view to prevent further distribution.

2. Preserve a secure copy of the content and related metadata (account identifiers, IP addresses, timestamps, device and session data) so that law enforcement and child-safety agencies can investigate. These copies are stored with limited access and strong encryption.

3. Report to Nigerian authorities -  we report suspected CSAM to the Nigerian Police Force (Cybercrime Section) and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). For international cooperation, we may also report to NCMEC where appropriate.

4. Cooperate with investigators -  we respond to lawful requests from Nigerian and international law enforcement and provide preserved evidence when required. Where possible and lawful, we notify affected users about actions taken against their accounts.

Legal obligations and our compliance

Online service providers in Nigeria are subject to legal obligations under laws such as the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, the Child Rights Act 2003, and related regulations. These laws require service providers to report illegal content and preserve evidence to assist investigations. Davruna complies with these laws and works with recognized child-safety organisations to ensure reports go to the right authorities, while also cooperating internationally where appropriate.

How we keep preserved evidence secure

Preserving evidence is crucial to identify victims and perpetrators, and to support criminal investigations. Davruna follows strict internal controls for preserved material:

• Access to preserved content and case files is strictly limited to authorised personnel.

• Preserved copies are encrypted at rest and in transit, and logged so that any access is traceable.

• We retain evidence only as required by law and by lawful investigative need; retention periods and procedures are reviewed regularly to balance investigative needs with privacy and security obligations.

Transparency and accountability

We are committed to transparency about our safety practices:

• We publish safety-oriented policies and community standards that clearly prohibit CSAM and explain our enforcement approach.

• We report significant safety metrics and cooperate with independent child-safety initiatives and industry coalitions that develop best practice.

If you encounter content on Davruna that you believe depicts child exploitation, violates our Terms & Conditions, or is otherwise illegal:

2. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services immediately (e.g., dial 112 or 199 in Nigeria).

Users cannot report content directly on the platform, so sending an email is the correct way to alert Davruna to harmful material.
